The Italian Government, following the Declaration of the G7 Summit Germany 2015, is committed to ensure that the Italian National Contact Point for the OECD Guidelines for Multinational enterprises is effective and lead by example. In this framework it engaged in the OECD Peer Review and in Peer Learning meetings with NCPs from several OECD countries, organized back-to-back with this public event. In the year of the 40th Anniversary of the OECD Guidelines, the event will be an opportunity to discuss their implementation and the role of the National Contact Points in a context of globalization, increasing investment from emerging economies, and complex international supply chains. It will also provide an opportunity for companies to present the achievements and challenges of operating in a responsible and sustainable manner, and for stakeholders from business, trade unions and NGOs to provide their views on the Guidelines and the NCPs, as part of the global scenario.
