Fabio Marcelli is research director at the Institute of International Legal Studies of the National Research Council.
He is the author of 14 books and more or less hundred articles in the field of international law and international relations (see the annexed list).
Fields of research: international discipline of scientific and technological research, international activities of regional and local authorities, international environmental law, foreign debt, indigenous peoples, social rights in international law, international migrations law.
Consultant of several private and public entities as well of NGOs.
Foreign debt: author of a monograph on the issue and member of a network of Italian and international lawyers with the goal of ascertaining the international legal norms in the matter also asking for a consultative opinion of the International Court of Justice ex art. 87 of the United Nations Charter.
Environment: author of various essays and of the text “For an international order in harmony with nature” transmitted by the Plurinational State of Bolivia to United Nations.
Indigenous peoples: author of a monograph on the matter and in charge of the biliateral cooperation project between Regione Lazio and ACIN (Asociación de los Cabildos Indígenas del Norte del Cauca).
Human rights: member of the Steering Council of the Unione forense per la tutela dei diritti umani, and of the editorial staff of the journal “Diritti dell’uomo cronache e battaglie”.
Migrations: in charge for the scientific direction of the legal sector of the migration project of CNR. Scientific director for the FEI project “Partecipare per integrarsi”. In charge for the sector “Migrations and development” of the new migrations project of CNR. Scientific director and general coordinator of the project TOOLS in the framework of the FAMI program.
Internet: in charge for the scientific direction of the project PRISM on hate speech in social media for the European and international law aspects. Co-author of the book “Internet come spazio di partecipazione politica, aspetti giuridici”.
Promoter and manager of several bilateral projects with foreign scientific institutions (Argentina, China, Cuba, Ecuador).
